The recently formed "Friends of the Library" has presented the library with a donation of $900. The monies were raised through a lot of hard work by many community members.

The group organized workers to prepare a variety of individual pies including apple, berry, cherry, rhubarb, and peach. The pies were sold in Coquille during the "Gay 90's " celebration.

They also had a sale at the Dora Center in conjunction with the Dora Friendly Club's annual Fishermen's Breakfast. The Friends sold cookies, hand crafted items of all kinds, and , of course, books.

They are making plans for the county fair, the Blackberry Arts Festival. One member is hand quilting a quilt top that was donated. When complete we will picture it on the web site. I believe it will be raffled.

The library board and staff are very grateful  for their contribution. These funds are greatly needed and will be used to help purchase furniture for the upcoming expanded library space.
