Your Library Card
Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.
Who can get a card
Any full time resident of Coos County may apply for a card, with some restrictions for children under the age of 5. Adults applying for a card must show identification confirming their identity and their current address to be eligible.
Provisional library cards may be issued to individuals who are temporary residents, or who will require a library card on a short-term basis only. Both local and permanent address and phone information is obtained. A provisional card carries usage restrictions.
How to Get Your Card
Borrowers may receive a free library card, valid at all Coos County libraries, by:
- completing a COASTLINE application available at any Coos County Library
- agreeing to accept full responsibility for materials checked out on the card and for all charges associated with its use.
Borrowing Limits
- Registered borrowers are limited to a total of 50 items checked out at any one time.
- Provisional cards have a limit of 10 items maximum, with no more than 3 Video and music CD's at any one time.
Placing Holds or Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Holds may be placed or items renewed by contacting library staff during normal operating hours or by logging into your account online.

Library Fines
Books, Magazines, CD's and Audio Books: $0.15 per item for each day overdue.
DVD's and videos: $1.00 per item for each day overdue.
Patron accounts with overdue materials and/or charges may be referred to a collection agency.
